Belgian power market · 11 August 2026

At 14:00 almost free. At 19:45 30× the price.

Those prices were fixed the day before. Novolt tuned your battery, your car and your house to them.

Before you wake up, the day is already planned. Novolt steers your solar panels, your battery and your charger as one system, on tomorrow's prices and the rules that apply here.

What happens between the market price and your socket

Four layers. Each one does something you will never see, and each one is the reason the layer above it is allowed to be right.

  1. 01Measure

Measured at your house, not estimated

What your panels make, what your house uses, what is left in your battery and what your car draws. All of it from your own devices, read at the same moment. That is why every figure in the app is your actual installation.

read in parallel, timestamp per source

  2. 02Forecast

Novolt knows what your house is about to ask for

From your own measurements Novolt works out how much your house consumes, separate from whatever your solar, your battery and your car are doing at that moment. Together with the weather forecast for your panels, that gives a picture of the next 24 hours.

consumption and solar forecast, 24 hours ahead

  3. 03Plan

One calculation across the whole day, not hour by hour

The next 24 hours are solved in one go: your battery, your car and your grid connection together, against quarter-hourly prices. Because charging now means not charging later.

96 quarter hours, recalculated every 15 minutes

  4. 04Steer

From a device in your own meter cupboard

That is where the plan runs, and where an instruction goes out to your inverter and your charger every 30 seconds. Because it sits in your home rather than in a data centre, your installation keeps working even if the link to us drops for a while.

It calculates by Belgian rules, not generic ones

A dynamic tariff is more than the exchange price. The rest of your bill counts just as much, and here it works differently than anywhere else.

  1. Capacity tariff

Part of your bill does not depend on what you consume, but on your highest quarter-hourly peak. Novolt tracks your monthly peak and weighs it into every decision, including the 2.5 kW floor and the rolling year your tariff is calculated over.

  2. Quarter hours, not hours

The Belgian market settles per quarter hour. Novolt plans on those same quarter hours, so a cheap half hour really is a cheap half hour.

  3. Export that can cost you money

When there is plenty of sun, the payment for what you export drops to zero or below. Novolt checks every quarter hour whether exporting earns you anything, and keeps the power in the house otherwise.

  4. Your grid area

Distribution costs differ per grid operator. Your tariff is set to the area where you live, not to a national average.

You say what has to happen, not how

No screen full of sliders. You set what has to happen or where the limit is, and the planner finds the cheapest way to keep to it.

An agreement with a deadline

By 7:00 tomorrow the car needs 100 km more in it.

Novolt turns those 100 km into kilowatt hours, picks the cheapest hours to charge them and moves them when prices change. The deadline stays put.

the car is ready on time

A limit that always holds

My peak must not go above 5 kW.

Your monthly peak sets part of your bill, the capacity tariff. Novolt spreads the charging of your car and your battery so that they do not push you over it.

charging does not raise your peak

This is what it looks like. The app, with real figures.

Three screens do most of the work: what is flowing now, what Novolt plans and why, and what it earned you.

Power costs 38 cents right now. You are buying none of it.

Direct line

Built in Belgium, close to the installation

Novolt is made by a small team that stands between the inverters and chargers themselves. The first installations are running today; with a handful of sites we're now building further.

You talk directly to the people who write the code. No helpdesk layer, no script. What your installation needs steers what we build.

inverter, meter and the box on the shelf

One device in your meter cupboard

The Novolt box goes next to your inverter and your meter, reads them and steers them. Your installation itself does not change.

Nothing gets replaced
Your inverter, your battery, your charger and your meter stay exactly what they are. Novolt talks to them, it does not take their place.
One network cable
The box hangs off your network. It needs nothing else.
Keeps working locally
The plan runs on the box itself, so your installation stays steered even if your internet drops for a while.

How to start. With one house, or a whole fleet.

One installation? You start right away. Several locations or a charging park? We put together a proposal.

Something else? Ask us
  • Yes, that's what Novolt is built for. It sits on top of your installation and runs what's already there: inverter, battery, charger, meter. Give us the make and model and you'll know before you start whether it works. If an integration is missing, we build it.

Energy that runs itself. Tonight too.

Novolt steers your solar, your battery, your grid connection and your charger on a dynamic tariff, and shows you why it does what it does.
